Kirsten Jorgenson’s SEDIMENT & VEIL is on the SPD RECOMMENDS list this week!
Issue 93 of Boog City features a review of Tim Earley’s POEMS DESCRIPTIVE OF RURAL LIFE AND SCENERY as well as an interview with me about Horse Less Press. Thanks Paula Jane Mendoza, Mike Young, and Boog City!
Last night Kirsten Jorgenson gave a book release reading for SEDIMENT & VEIL at the Utah Book Festival, and Tim Earley read from POEMS DESCRIPTIVE OF RURAL LIFE AND SCENERY at Tusculum College in Tennessee. If any of you were able to be at either reading, we’d love reports. If you were able to attend both, tell us how you do it. In the meantime, thanks to Jen Fitzgerald, here are some short and lovely words about Nikki Wallschlaeger’s chapbook I WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST BIRD. Horse Less will be publishing Wallschlaeger’s first full length book early next year, and we are SOOOOOOOO excited.
Here’s a great interview with Dan Brady via The Conversant; among other things, he talks about his interest in the painter Eugene Leroy and how he engages with Leroy’s work in his writing. Thanks, Elaine Bleakney, for this conversation! And did you all know you can order Dan’s new chapbook Leroy Sequences directly from our catalog? Oh it’s true.
We are so excited to announce that Tony Mancus’s chapbook Again(st) Membering and Dan Brady’s chapbook Leroy Sequences are now available from our catalog.
These are the first two of five chapbooks we will be releasing this fall: coming in the next few months are chapbooks by Lauren Gordon, Judith Roitman, and Frank Sherlock. You can receive ALL FIVE OF THESE CHAPBOOKS by picking up a fall chapbook subscription for only $30.
I approved final proofs for Kirsten Jorgenson’s SEDIMENT & VEIL today, and it’s about to start printing: just another few days to get it at the discounted pre-order price!

Pre-orders for Kristi Maxwell’s new chapbook TO INSIST ON THE ‘SOMENESS’ OF EVERY ASSEMBLAGE have been shipped; if you haven’t ordered a copy yet, you can do so via our catalog!
We are so happy to say, after some quiet time, O P E N, our book review page, is once again pointed toward activity, and with a brand new set of editors: Jess Rowan, Randy Prunty, Sarah Cook, and Amorak Huey! Read about our new editors, check out the new guidelines for our reviews page, and be in touch about books you’d like to review or see reviewed.
