Support Horse Less & get some fabulous books + a weekend recap

We have 11 days to go of our spring mini-Kickstarter campaign, and we’re 30% funded. Thank you! If you haven’t yet, please stop by and order some books or chapbooks & support Horse Less Press in the process. Coming up in the next couple months, we have chapbooks by Carolina Maugeri and Kris Hall, a full-length book by John Duvernoy, and Horse Less Review #17, guest edited by Megan Burns.

In case you missed it, I posted some great news & work from our authors over the holiday weekend: a new review of Stephanie Anderson’s IN THE KEY OF THOSE WHO CAN NO LONGER ORGANIZE THEIR ENVIRONMENTS, some video of Tim Earley reading from POEMS DESCRIPTIVE OF RURAL LIFE AND SCENERY, and a new SONNET from Nikki Wallschlaeger. I also announced that we’ll be publishing Nikki Wallschlaeger’s first full-length book, HOUSES, in 2015. We’re so excited! HOUSES was a solicited manuscript; if you submitted a manuscript during our open reading period this spring, we hope to be in touch by the end of June, so more announcements forthcoming!

Stephanie Anderson’s IN THE KEY reviewed by Abigail Kerstetter at VOLTA

Here’s a great review of Stephanie Anderson’s In the Key of Those Who Can No Longer Organize Their Environments over at VOLTA. Thanks, Abigail! Still need a copy of Stephanie Anderson’s book? You can pick one up and help support Horse Less via our spring Kickstarter campaign.

read SONNET (13) by Nikki Wallschlaeger & an announcement

Go spend some time at Fanzine with this great poem by Nikki Wallschlaeger, from a manuscript in progress. Order a pair of chapbooks or the spring chapbook subscription from Horse Less Press’s current Kickstarter campaign, and you can have a copy of Wallschlaeger’s wonderful chapbook I WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST BIRD.

And, can I tell you a secret, friends? A very brand new bit of information that almost no one knows? In addition to the manuscripts we will choose from this year’s open reading period, Horse Less Press will be publishing two solicited book manuscripts in 2015, and we are so happy to announce that one of those manuscripts is Nikki Wallschlaeger’s HOUSES. You can read some excerpts from HOUSES and some of Nikki’s other amazing work here. We cannot keep a secret. We are so excited.
